Corrections Policy

Use our contact form and choose "Correction". Tell us the story, the specific claim you believe is wrong, and the correct information, with a source if you have one. You don't need to be the subject of the story to flag an error.

Factual corrections cover names, titles, dates, locations, numbers, quotes, and verifiable claims. We also want to hear about misleading framing or missing context that changes the meaning of a story.

An editor reviews every submission against our reporting. If the claim is wrong, we correct the story as soon as verification allows, usually within days, not weeks.

Substantive corrections are disclosed at the bottom of the corrected story, noting what was changed. We don't silently rewrite facts and hope nobody noticed.

An update adds new information to a developing story; a correction fixes something we got wrong. Updates are marked "Updated" with the date. Corrections carry an explicit correction note.
